Postdoc film and media opportunity at the University of Kent

The *Centre for Film and Media Research* at the University of Kent

(formerly known as the Centre for the Interdisciplinary Study of Film

and the Moving Image) seeks to host a Leverhulme Early Career Research

Fellow, i.e., *postdoctoral fellow*, *for a fixed term of three years

beginning on 1 September 2016.*

To be eligible the candidate should:

--be a dynamic, energetic researcher with passion for her or his area of

interest in film and media studies and with the enthusiasm to produce

collaborative scholarship in other areas of our field

--be willing to be present in Canterbury and actively engage in the

research culture of the University of Kent during term time and to

undertake light teaching and administrative duties

--ideally, have contacts with non-HEI institutions (including but not

limited to festivals or distributors, government agencies or lobby

groups, museums, galleries, archives or other organisations within the

creative industries) and be willing to act as a bridge between the

Centre and those groups

--have received their PhD after 10 March 2011 (or be submitting their

PhD thesis before 10 March 2016)

--have received a degree from a UK university or hold a part-time or

fixed term position at a UK university

--have *not* held a full-time permanent lectureship at a UK university

before

as well as (3) a short cover letter of less than 500 words that outlines

your intended research agenda for the duration of the fellowship and

briefly mentions your general research interests and any contacts you
