The Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) at Barnard College, Columbia University invites applications for a Term Assistant Professor (3 years) to commence in the Fall 2016 semester. Applicants must have a PhD in hand at the time of application. We seek an interdisciplinary scholar of gender and/or sexuality studies with strengths in historical approaches and critical theory, with a preference for recent PhDs whose research focus is pre-19th century and/or non-Western or indigenous contexts. The successful candidate will teach 5 courses per academic year, consisting of both core courses in our department and courses of their own choosing.
