Assistant Professor, Bachelor of Communication Studies Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications

In support of faculty professional development, unique and enhanced services are provided through the Centre for the Advancement of Faculty Excellence (CAFÉ). The Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications (FFAC) at MacEwan University invites applications for a continuing position at the rank of Assistant Professor with an appointment date of July 1, 2016, or soon after. The successful candidate must have a masters in journalism or a related field (PhD is an asset) and be able to teach a variety of courses in the Bachelor of Communication Studies (BCS) Journalism major. Core skills in print and broadcast journalism and a deep understanding of digital media are essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of teaching at a post-secondary level, at least five years of experience working as a journalist and a promising scholarship agenda in the field of journalism and communication. Applicants should be highly collaborative, collegial, and eager to make a positive contribution to the growth of the degree. The successful candidate must be prepared to assume a leadership role in further developing and expanding the program.
